December 12, 2016 by Jenni 2,337 Comments

This post was created in partnership with Ninja Coffee Bar® System. I received complimentary products in order to create the cookies and cream frappe – and compensation to facilitate my review, but all opinions within are my own.

cookies and cream frappe

We’re in the midst of the crazy holiday season. Between shopping, wrapping, decorating, and baking – we need to take our caffeine breaks along the way! At least I do!! Momma needs this cookies and cream frappe, yes. Yes, she does!

We have a lot of family and friends to entertain through the holiday. Most of which are big coffee drinkers. A regular cup of coffee is perfect for everyday – but special occasions call for special coffee drinks!

I certainly don’t look like Sofia Vergara, or sound like her. However, with my new Ninja Coffee Bar® System — I can make a cup of coffee just as good as hers! Whether we want a full pot of regular brewed coffee or a single cup of coffee. Iced coffee, or a delicious coffee, or cookies and cream frappe. The Ninja Coffee Bar® System does it ALL.

5 Reasons You’ll Love theNinja Coffee Bar® System:

Homemade Mint Chocolate Shamrock Frappe

March 2, 2015 by 402 Comments

Mint Chocolate Shamrock Frappe

Mint Chocolate Shamrock Frappe

It’s that time of year again.  St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and it just happens to be my favorite holiday (since there’s Irish in my blood and it’s my birthday)!  With this all things green holiday comes the return of the “Shamrock Shake” and while it is oh so delicious it is also oh so full of calories.  I read somewhere recently that 1 shake has more that 600 calories in it.  I was looking for a frozen drink that would have a similar flavor but wouldn’t be so heavy and that’s how my Mint Chocolate Shamrock Frappe was born.  You’ll love it!

Ingredients:

  • 8 coffee ice cubes (strong brewed coffee, poured into ice cube trays and frozen)
  • peppermint extract – how much will depend on how strong your extract is and how strong you want the mint flavor
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • green food coloring
  • whipped topping and additional chocolate syrup for topping if desired

Shamrock Frappe

Instructions:

Begin by mixing a small amount of green food coloring into your milk.  If you want to keep the recipe as low in calories as possible you can use a fat free milk or milk substitute.

Mint Chocolate Shamrock Frappe

Next combine your coffee ice cubes, the now green milk, sugar, peppermint extract, and chocolate syrup in your blender or frappe maker.

Mint Chocolate Shamrock Frappe

Blend on high until the mixture reaches desired consistency.  I like mine to be a bit more frozen so I use extra coffee ice cubes and not as much milk.   Pour into a tall glass and top with whipped topping and additional chocolate syrup if you desire!

You’ll love the flavor of the Mint Chocolate Shamrock Frappe and it will remind you of mint chocolate ice cream or that high calorie shake without the guilt!  You can certainly make this same treat without the green food coloring anytime or skip adding the food coloring for health reasons.  It will taste just as great!

Peppermint Mocha Frappe

November 6, 2014 by 303 Comments

I promise I am not trying to rush things when I say I’m thinking about the coming holidays and things like candy canes.  I recently picked up a peppermint mocha flavored coffee creamer and as I was drinking it I thought about how a frappe would be with this flavor!  I picked up some extra ingredients and the perfect Peppermint Mocha Frappe was mine! Oh, and psst….have you seen all of our other frappe recipes?

Peppermint Mocha Frappe

Peppermint Mocha Frappe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups Cold Coffee
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 1/4 Cup Chocolate Syrup
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 4 Peppermint Patties
  • 3 Peppermint Star-burst Candies
  • Blender or Frappe Maker

Instructions:

Like our other frappe recipes you’ll first want to pour the cold coffee into ice cube trays and let them freeze completely.

Add the frozen coffee and all the other ingredients to your blender or Frappe Maker.

Peppermint Mocha Frappe Recipe

Blend on high until all ingredients are crushed and smooth.  Pour into a chilled glass and enjoy! This would be so good with a candy cane stir stick but candy canes haven’t hit the shelf here yet.

If you’re in the market for a blender, the links above will show you several that are available on Amazon. Make sure to read reviews on the models you’re interested in. There are many economical ones out there, however, if you’re looking to spend some money on a BEAST then you should check out the Ninja blender models, or even the Vitamix or Blendtec! Any of those will ROCK your SOCKS!!

Check out our other frappes on the blog….and enjoy!

Maple Frappe Recipe – The Perfect Fall Treat

October 1, 2014 by 1,692 Comments

I love to try to recreate frappes that I’ve tried while ordering from McDonald’s or a coffee shop but I also love to make my own frappe flavors like this Maple Frappe.  I’ve been drinking frozen apple cider lately and love the fall flavor it has but really like the pick me up of a frappe.  I was making some fall recipes that called for maple syrup and that’s when I decided to try a maple frappe!

Maple Frappe

Maple Frappe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups Cold Coffee
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 1/4 Cup Pure Maple Syrup
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Maple Flavoring
  • Blender or Frappe Maker

Maple Frappe Process

Instructions:

Like our other frappe recipes (I’ll link them below so you can check out each one), you’ll first want to pour the cold coffee into ice cube trays and let them freeze completely.  Again, if you’re a frappe addict like me, you’ve got a supply of coffee ice cubes in the freezer at all times!

Once the coffee is frozen, place all the ingredients into a blender or frappe maker and blend until smooth.

Seriously, that simple!

Most frappes I top with whipped topping and caramel or chocolate syrup.  This one was really sweet so I opted to enjoy it without a topping.  It was so delicious and really tasted like fall!

Have you ever tried the Chocolate Chip Frappe at McDonald’s?

I regularly, but secretly, add it to the breakfast section of my menu plan. Since my blender has a permanent home on the counter, it’s just too easy not to enjoy this often!

After trying a few different recipes, I finally came up with one that is basically foolproof. I mean, you can’t hardly mess up when it comes to coffee, milk, chocolate syrup, sugar, and ice right?!

If you’re more of a “tear open a pouch and enjoy” kind of person, you can try this Ghirardelli Mocha Frappe Mix from Amazon. I’ve had it, and it’s great for a quick fix!

Pssst. We’re offering our FREE Printable & Reusable Menu Planner right now! Get yours below!

printable-menu-plan-offer-1

Mocha Frappe Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups cold coffee
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/8 – 1/4 cup chocolate syrup (start with less, add more if needed)
  • 1/8 – 1/4 cup sugar (start with less, add more if needed)

Directions:

Freeze the coffee in ice cube trays. If you simply can’t wait till the iced coffee cubes are frozen, you can use the coffee but add ice cubes to blender. But make sure to freeze coffee this time around and always have frozen coffee on hand, for a quick fix.

That step saves SO much time because you have to wait on the coffee to cool.

Once frozen, add everything to a blender and blend till smooth. Yes, really…that’s all there is to it!  Make sure to look below for variations!! This makes enough that you should be able to share. Unless you’re like me, and guzzle it straight down from the blender. Teehehehe.

WAIT!!!!!!!

Do you want to find out how to:

  • Cut sugar in this recipe
  • Cut calories in this recipe
