Christmas Mobile Wish Lists Made EASY at Toys”R”Us!

This post brought to you by Toys“R“Us . The content and opinions expressed below are that of Sweet Pennies From Heaven.

I just cannot believe that Christmas is less than a month away! Are your kids making their Wish Lists already?! I remember when I was little and how giddy I felt, when it was time to make my Wish List!!

Our Great Big Toys”R”Us Book of Awesome arrived the other day and our kiddo found it before I did. Eeek! He already has “big” plans with his Wish List this year. It’s gettin’ real folks!!! Thankfully, the Toys”R”Us Big Book of AWWWESOME makes creating his Wish List super easy! Check it out…

15301088_1352714268085695_361302921_nKids’ Wish List goes MOBILE!

I noticed on the front of the Toys”R”Us Big Book, this little green circle that says “new! Wish List goes mobile”. Well, in all honesty, mobile = EASY for me! We gave it a try and it’s super duper easy AND convenient! What an #AwesomeMoment!

The best part is that you can create a list for each kiddo and name them! No more confusion, and no more losing all those handwritten wish lists! Now, if your child still insists on writing their own wish list on paper – that’s perfectly fine! I recommend it! Then you can make a mobile version of their hand-written Wish List. Besides…Santa likes to receive both hand-written AND mobile Wish Lists!

15227981_1352714118085710_274994675_n

All you need to do is go to Toysrus.com/WishList and create your Wish List – or many of them. Get signed in and simply tap the camera icon to start building the Wish List! You can take a picture of any item in the  Big Book of Awwwesome and the items or similar items will appear! You can then go ahead and add that item to cart OR scroll on down to add to their wish list. Seeeee? How easy is that?!

15240088_1352742194749569_983364513_n

As you can see from our own wish list making – I took a picture of the Bop It! Sonic game. It uploaded the image, and then gave me the options that I could click to add to his wish list. You can also use the bar code scanner option if you’re visiting in-store!

Since this week is Cyber Week at Toys”R”Us – now’s the time to get great deals on all of the items on your kid’s Wish Lists! My kiddo has tons of stuff on his Wish List. From Legos to Marvel Comic action figures. Star Wars toys, and many more fun things! If you need a little help, visit some of Toys”R”Us BFF’s and Get Inspired.

You better bet I’ll be shopping this Cyber Week to get the very BEST deals! Don’t you miss out on all of the savings this week at Toys”R”Us!

15280929_1351594114864377_505168308_n

We do have a few big ticket items that we’d like to get for him from his Wish List. Some things may have to hold out till his birthday, but you never know. Santa may be extra awesome this year!

We will also be donating some toys through some local and national drives! If you donate as well, I suggest using the Cyber deals this week to score some awesome toys at pretty big discounted prices!

What big ticket item is on your kiddo’s wish list this year?

Here are 5 reasons your kid needs a Puddle Jumper!

5 Reasons Your Kid Needs a Puddle Jumper This Summer

May 29, 2015 by Jenni 1,339 Comments

This post brought to you by Stearns Puddle Jumpers®. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Sweet Pennies From Heaven.

Here are 5 reasons your kid needs a Puddle Jumper! Warm weather is here! Are you enjoying the sunny days already?! We’re so lucky that we have a swimming pool and can cool off outside when it’s really reallllly hot. The kiddo gets more brave each year and he’s sooooo close to getting his float down. He’s almost there!

StearnsFlotation.com is an outdoor water equipment expert and one of the products in their line that we love is Puddle Jumper. These flotation devices for children are truly awesome! They’re sort of an all-in-one flotation device that are unlike regular life jackets. Puddle Jumpers are designed to enable kiddos to move about more freely when swimming, yet ensure full safety. You can buy them directly from the Stearns website.

5 Reasons Why You Should Choose Stearns Puddle Jumpers

Here are 5 reasons your kid needs a Puddle Jumper!

1. Coast Guard Approved…

I mean, come on. If it’s Coast Guard approved, it has to be a great product! We’ve used Puddle Jumpers for years, and with multiple kids in the family, and we all love them. You just slide the kids arm through the arm sections and then fasten the belt around them, at the back. Puddle Jumpers are for kids that weigh between 30-50 lbs.

Here are 5 reasons your kid needs a Puddle Jumper!

2. Gives Kids Confidence and a Sense of Independence…

Kids hit a certain age where they want to wade out a little deeper, and not always with mom or dad. They get brave – yet we know they’re not old enough or big enough to be without a flotation device. Puddle Jumpers gives them confidence and a little more independence. Keep in mind, these do NOT take the place of adult supervision. I can’t leave this paragraph without being a mom: Never, ever, ever leave your kids unattended in water.

3. Cute & Colorful Designs…

We’ve had a few different Stearns Puddle Jumpers over the last few years. Between my nephews who live next door and my own son, we have a few floating around here. They offer so many cute and colorful designs. Something that will match every kids’ personality!

Here are 5 reasons your kid needs a Puddle Jumper!

4. Easy to Take Care of…

After jumping out of the pool, we just hang ours up to dry or let it lay in the yard in the sun for a bit. After summer is over, we just pack ours away in the garage so it’s ready to go the next year. Also, there’s no worry with having to blow them up like other flotation devices. These are not inflatable.

Here are 5 reasons your kid needs a Puddle Jumper!

5. They’re Vacation Ready…

Heading on vacation? Or just a day trip to the beach, lake or maybe a pool party? Don’t forget the Puddle Jumper! Sometimes being in new places and in water can make kids a little hesitant. Their Puddle Jumper will comfort them and give them the confidence to splash and play and have ALL the fun in the world. Puddle Jumpers don’t take up much space so you’ll be glad you brought it with you!

Here are 5 reasons your kid needs a Puddle Jumper!

Do you think Puddle Jumpers would give your kiddo the boost of confidence they need in the water?

family-shopping

Memorial Day is coming up and I always look forward to spending a long weekend with family, sort of kicking off summer. Memorial Day is also the perfect time to score some really great deals!

This past week, the moms at Moms Check In have been talking about simple ways to give back. We discussed toy drives, doing charity 5K’s with family, food pantries and other ideas. It just feels good to be able to give back when we can. The world offers us so much, so we should repay in kind anytime that we can!

This month, Coupons.com makes it even simpler to give back. And the best part? You can give back to a worthy cause and save some money shopping at your favorite stores. All you have to do is go to Coupons.com/BCRF and use any offer on the page. You total pre-tax price is $100. Thanks to your purchase, Coupons.com will donate $10. You can now feel good knowing that your purchase is helping to find a cure for breast cancer.

I’ve been scoping out their sales and there are a few I’m taking advantage of, including the 50% off kids clearance at Target! There’s also a $5 off a $25 purchase at TOMS! Ummm, summer is here and I’m totally buying a new pair of TOMS!!

Simple Ways to Give Back

Simple Ways to Give Back

Giving back is something that I think we all feel good about, as human beings. Whether we’re giving of our time, money, services, food or toys…it just feels good to give! There are so many ways that we can give back – even if it’s something simple. You know, just the other day my husband called me and said the vehicle in front of him paid for our dinner at the drive-thru. How cool is that?! He paid it forward, and paid for someone else’s dinner the next day. Giving to someone in need or to your community, is a blessing…to them, and to you!

Our Moms Check In moms are talking all about easy and simple ways to give back this week. We’d love to hear your family’s favorite ways to give back. Drop us a comment below or chat with us on social media using the hashtag #MomsCheckIn!

Here are OUR favorite ways to give back…

Amanda-626x1024

“I think that it’s so important to not only to give back, but to teach your kids about giving back! We do a lot of family friendly things to get Joshua engaged in helping others. This weekend he is planning on running a lemonade stand to help raise money for charity. We’ve also donated books he’s outgrown to classrooms at school. One of our favorite things to do is participating in 5K walks. It’s fun to do (some are super creative!) and they support awesome causes!“

“A great way to give back and make a big impact in your community is through food pantries and shelters. You can volunteer your time and non-perishable food items to your local food pantry. Many people rely on the help they receive at their local food pantry to keep their family fed that month. At shelters, families can receive not only a place to stay but toiletries and clothing. {Did you know that socks are the most needed and least donated clothing item at shelters?} Check with your local pantry or shelter to find out the items they need, the hours you can volunteer there or how you can increase awareness and support in your community. Be the change you want to see!“

Jenni-Eaves1-213x300

“A simple way that we love to give back is by donating gently used toys to drives or to local schools and churches. Right now, we have a local town cleanup going on that we want to participate in. That’s a great way to give back to our community and feel like we’re doing something important that will make a difference. Giving of your time is important too, especially in your own community!”

7 Tips for Grilling Like a Pro This Season #KettlemanKicksAsh

April 20, 2015 by Jenni 509 Comments

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Char-Broil for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

tips for grilling Grilling season is HERE! Yess!!!! We fired ours up a couple of weeks ago and have grilled out a few times already. To me, food just tastes better when it’s been grilled, especially over charcoal. Anytime we have family get togethers, we always cook out. My husband considers it his duty to maintain the grill, cook the food, and look good while doin’ it. However, he does have some important tips to make grilling season around here pretty perfect.

Tips for Grilling Like a Pro:

1. Keep a spray bottle with water handy to knock down any flames. When grease drops onto the fire, it can cause flames to pop up higher than you want so just spray some water to keep them at bay.

2. Prepare meat before you grill. Marinate the meat a few hours or even the day before in whatever marinades you like. Play around with a few different ones, either store bought or homemade. You’ll eventually find a few favorites!

3. Grilling utensils. Make sure to have a great set of grilling utensils made for grilling. They’re usually long handled for convenience. My husband has a set that he loves and wouldn’t take anything for.

4. Wire brush for cleaning the grill. The grates on the grill get nasty very fast so make sure that you have a wire brush for cleaning those bad boys. If they get super grungy, soak in some hot water with Dawn dish liquid and scrub with wire brush.

5. Have a nice collection of herbs and spices. Playing around with different flavors can really enhance the taste of the food you’re grilling. We have a large “collection” of spices that he likes to use. Some are store bought and others he’s mixed himself. He’s like a scientist!

6. Grill in an open space. Please, for the love of everything holy….don’t grill under a porch or under a ceiling. Just don’t.

7. Cover that baby up. We love our grills. Spend a few extra dollars and get a cover for your grill to keep it protected from the weather…and the birds!! Bleck!! tips for grilling We love cooking on charcoal grills. It’s just so easy. This weekend while we were catching up on yard work and mowing, he fired up the grill and we had some lunch outside. Perfect weather…perfect day!

Did you know that Char-Broil brought the first charcoal grill to market over 65 years ago. Since then they’ve kept making bigger and better grills, always working to make millions of people happy during grilling season each year.

undefined

The new Char-Broil Kettleman Grill is a 22.5″ Charcoal Grill. It’s an updated kettle-style grill with vast improvements that is more efficient and easier to use. It’s no ordinary charcoal kettle grill. This baby is loaded with features that have better control over every aspect of the cooking process.

  • Temperature Control – With a super sized cool-touch damper on the grill’s lid, heat management is easy. Vents around the body of the kettle allow air to fuel the fire from all sides, providing even heat to the cooking surface.
  • Flare-Up Control – A porcelain coated no-fall-through grate allows charcoal flavor through while keeping flames away from food. Wood chips can be thrown on the grate and small foods like shrimp or asparagus will never fall into the fire.
  • Charcoal Control – Designed to grill twice as many burgers with the same 50 briquettes as the leading kettle.
  • Ash Control – A slide-in, porcelain-coated ashtray is tight against the grill making cleanup and maintenance simpler than ever.
  • Stability Control – Wide stance, heavy-gauge steel legs add stability and easy mobility. A bottom shelf doubles as a holder for the cooking grate or other accessories.

The Kettleman also has a hinged and latching lid that never has to touch the ground while grilling. That makes moving the grill around, and to even take with you camping, a breeze! You can find the Char-Broil Kettleman at Lowe’s or online at www.charbroil.com. Click on over to find out more features and learn more about the Kettleman grill. Priced around $129, you can’t beat it for that awesome charcoal cooked flavor.

Are You Keeping ALL of Your Family’s Devices Safe and Protected?

March 12, 2015 by Jenni 344 Comments

This is a sponsored story. However, all opinions and well-wishes that you keep your devices safe and protected from digital thieving jerks are 100% my own, and honest as always. <3

keep devices safe for the whole family

Ever pay your bills or shop online from your phone or tablet?

Do you check your bank account balance while standing in the middle of the grocery store?

What about the time you forgot your phone on a shelf next to a pack of chocolate chip cookies?! Have you ever done that?!

OMG….I have!!

Thank my lucky stars, it was still sitting peacefully by the chocolate chip cookies when I came crashing back down the aisle. I think I was going so fast, my buggy turned sideways as I rounded the corner! That was such a fiasco and now I NEVER set my phone down in a store. Ever.

We’ve been big fans of Norton for years. With tax season in full swing, we’re more apt to store and submit really important information like social security numbers – even for our kids. Did you know that a child’s identity can be stolen too? The scary thing is that often when that happens, it’s YEARS before you even find out about it! I really really reallllly recommend that you protect your digital presence with Norton Security. They’re just a top-notch company and I big puffy heart them.

Norton Security

Many families spend a ton of time online, and on many devices. Each kid with a phone/tablet in hand non-stop and the same for mom and dad. It won’t be long before they’ll be making mobile devices for our pets too. HA! Trying to get every device protected doesn’t have to be a chore. Really…it doesn’t. Norton has simplified things with these new products to cover all your devices with just one product. You can choose either Norton Security or Norton Security with Backup with more space to save important files and photos. If you’re like me, you have a TON of those.

Before you buy your new Norton Security product though, make sure to grab one of these Coupons.com Norton coupon codes. One of them is for a whopping $30 off a year’s subscription, making the year just $49. To protect your whole family! If you’re unsure of which of the two products to buy, check out the image below for some help. We use Norton 360 so the Norton Security with Backup is our choice.

small dog must haves

I just posted a must-haves list for big dogs the other day, and I promised to post a fun list for small dogs. Small dogs are high-maintenance too, I know…we have one. We have both a big dog and a small one and I’m not sure which is the most “needy”. I do know that we get lots of use out of the FURminator deshedding tool. The dogs actually like it when we use it….I guess it feels good! Which do you think is the most needed for small dogs? Enjoy the list below!

  1. No Stuffing Squeaker Toys – The latest craze to shake around. Pick the raccoon or the fox and no mess. Make your selection at Petsmart.

  7. Pet Purse – Just like Paris Hilton! Hang that baby over your shoulder, and take the little one everywhere in style. You can pick this up at Walmart.
  8. In Car Skybox – This is a skybox! Now the little dog can see out the window, while still being safely strapped in. Win, win from Petsmart.
  9. Pet Bike Basket – Get your exercise and take them along.Biking is such great exercise and now the little prince or princess can some along! Order this now from Get Organized, in time for your fall rides.
  10. Pet Rolling Case – This roll-around is amazingly convertible for any need, like those new-fangled strollers. The plane, the car or as a backpack, it is completely versatile, as you would expect from Get Organized.

October 3, 2014 by Jenni 1,141 Comments

This is a sponsored post in partnership with Blog Meets Brand. All opinions are my own.

campaign-415 (1)

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – and I know many who love to show their support for the ta-ta’s. Either for yourself or for someone you know and love. So many lives are affected and there are so many ways to show our support.

There are lots of places on line to buy breast cancer awareness products, but did you know that The Breast Cancer Site Store actually donates 3-50% of the retail price of each item sold to funding for mammograms, breast cancer research and care for women with the disease? It’s granted to their charity partners through GreaterGood.org.

The Breast Cancer Site Store has a TON of awesome items to show your support including jewelry, apparel and gifts! Something for everyone. They also offer discounts through the month of October on popular pink ribbon items. It’s an awesome way to “Go Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month”.

Which of the items shown above do you like?

I’d love to have one of all of them, but I’m especially in love with that hoodie! Fall is here and it’s getting mighty chilly! The bracelet would also make a great gift for a friend of mine. She loves breast cancer awareness jewelry.

What’s shown above, is just a super small portion of what they offer. I’ve got my eye on a ton of really cute stuff. They have lots of home decor too. Pretties for your garden, and they even have some fair trade goodies. Just a ton of stuff that you should take a look through.

Show your support by shopping at The Breast Cancer Site Store!!
