Can you smell fall in the air? I can! It’s my favorite time of the year. Pumpkins, changing leaves, the smell of spices. Yum! Have you seen all the pretty fall decorating ideas in all the current magazines? I check them out while waiting in line at the cash register and always get giddy when it’s time to decorate!
Decorating can get expensive without a plan. That’s why you should make a plan! Do you want your end result to scream “FALL IS HERE!” or are you more of a decorating “whisperer”? I’m somewhere in between the screaming and the whispering. 😉 There is no doubt that all the fall decor in the stores now are just too cute. But they’re also very pricey.
Here are some thrifty Fall decorating ideas that can save you a bundle.
1. Visit your local pumpkin patch or farm and buy a few different sized pumpkins and gourds.
2. Mums. Mums are so pretty plus they fill up a lot of space and add tons of color. Watch your local store sales ads for pricing and find the best deal on them before you buy. (P.S. Mums work great in pots, but you can also plant them in the ground before it gets too cold. They’ll come back next year!)
3. Use old containers that you have around your house to plant mums or artificial fall flowers in. For instance, the photo at the top…I planted some mums in an old metal bucket. I’ve got so many compliments on that pot of flowers!
4. Do you have sticks or dry branches in your yard? Bundle them together for a fun fall-ish centerpiece in a vase! You probably already own a vase, and hey…the limbs are FREE!
5. Visit your local farmers for cheap hay bales and foddershocks. Maybe even free!
6. Make your own DIY fall wreath like this Fall Owl Wreath from Rose Knows Coupons. This is too cute and doesn’t cost much at all. Much cheaper than if you bought one at a store!!
7. Visit the Goodwill or local yard sales for other fall decor. They’re full of stuff like that right now and you can get a lot of bargains.
8. Burlap. Burlap is seriously cheap material and you can use it for just about anything. It’s cute wrapped around candles or as a table runner. It instantly brings about a sense of “fall”.
9. Pine cones are free if you have pine trees around your home. We use them for decorating all the time! Mixed in a bowl with oranges, apples, tiny pumpkins and poutpourri or cinnamon sticks makes for a very pretty centerpiece.

10. Cloves in oranges makes for a very frugal and yummy scented decoration. My mom used to do this all the time when I was younger and I always loved to help her. The smell is heavenly.
I love Fall and I love decorating. I just don’t like taking forever doing it. These are some quick and easy idea to “Fall” up my house.
Cute ideas…need to remember some of these for fall! Thanks for sharing!
This design is incredible! You most certainly know how
to keep a reader amused. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog
(well, almost…HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
Too cool!

Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform
you’re working with? I’m looking to start my own blog in the
near future but I’m having a hard time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking
for something unique. P.S Sorry for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
Hmm it appears like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just
sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to
everything. Do you have any recommendations for novice blog writers?
I’d genuinely appreciate it.
Whats up are using WordPress for your blog platform?
I’m new to the blog world but I’m trying to get started and create my own. Do you require any coding knowledge to make your own blog?
Any help would be really appreciated!
I’ve been browsing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article
like yours. It is pretty worth enough for
me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did,
the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.
Saved as a favorite, I really like your web site!

I am extremely impressed along with your writing skills and also with the format for your blog.
Is this a paid topic or did you modify it
your self? Either way keep up the excellent quality writing,
it is uncommon to look a great weblog like this one nowadays..
Aw, this was an extremely good post. Taking the time and actual
effort to generate a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and never
seem to get nearly anything done.
