Who doesn’t love some Red Hots?! How about some Red Hot Valentine’s Day Cupcakes? These are just too much fun and so simple to make. They’re also very pretty. I love a pretty cupcake! I think the prettier they are, the better they taste. Are ya with me?!
Whip up a couple of batches of these for the kids’ classroom parties for Valentine’s Day, for the husband OR to eat alone in a closet. {shhhhh!} Either way…the outcome will be a happy one!

Red Hot Valentine’s Day Cupcakes
INGREDIENTS
1 box White Cake Mix
1 cup Water
1/3 cup Vegetable Oil
3 Eggs
9 oz Red Hots Candy
2 tbsp Milk
1 cup softened Butter
3 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar
Red Food Coloring (optional)
Valentine Sprinkles for Decoration
DIRECTIONS
Crush Red Hots in food processor until nearly powder.
Make cupcakes according to box directions except add half of crushed Red Hots to batter.
After baking move to wire cooling rack to cool completely.
In a large bowl, cream the butter.
Mix in the sugar and remaining crushed Red Hots.
If color is not pink enough for you, add several drops of red food coloring.
Beat in the milk mixing until fluffy.
Transfer icing to the corner of large size zipper bag, try to minimize trapped air and close. Clip a small piece off the corner to pipe.
Ice the top of each cupcake.
You can top with Valentine sprinkles to add flair.
