Halloween isn’t just for the kids ya know! If you’re planning an adult only Halloween party, here are some really fun decor ideas. Ohh, and if the kids will be gone, and you’re spending the night alone with your significant other…then there are also some really cute “behind closed doors” ideas. Ahem. {oh, snap!}

Okay…..now on to the awesome list below of goodies. Enjoy!

  1. Ceramic luminary – No need for all that carving, and slimy pumpkin innards. Use this classic ceramic pumpkin year after year. Get several, for a beautiful display. Via Pottery Barn.
  2. Flickering pumpkin light – Never mind candles, these are much safer, and work in all kinds of seasonal luminaries. Via Spirit Halloween.
  3. Pre-lit ghoul – If you go all in for terror. Via Walmart.
  4. Halloween hostess apron – Sheer. Green. With a skull embellishment. Wear it over black yoga pants and a tank top for no-fuss Halloween attire. Via Walmart.
  5. Skull and tassel earrings – They dangle, they frighten, need we say more? Could be the start of quite the tradition. Via Nordstrom.
  6. Skull and roses underwear – Because we know you care about the details, and when you put together a special event for your beloved, you don’t hold back. Via Neiman Marcus.
  7. Lined basket for trick-or-treaters – Just because you’re focused on your significant other, doesn’t mean you can’t welcome trick-or-treaters with a special basket of candy. Via World Market.
  8. High, antlered cheese dome – Not to be forgotten, something dramatic for entertaining long after Halloween is past. Via Neiman Marcus.
  9. Branch-look cheese spreader – A special cheese knife makes cheese and crackers into an event. Via Sur la Table.
  10. Frozen Beef Wellington – 35 minutes in the oven, and fancy dinner is pretty much done. Add some salad, bread, you’re set. Via Omaha Steaks.
  11. Black bleeding taper candles – What would a romantic dinner be without candles? What would Halloween be without a little was gore? Via World Market.
  12. Honey & truffles – In Napa Valley, they always serve you honey with your cheese. It’s delicious! Via Sur la Table.
  13. Nut sampler – The final component of a gourmet cheese board is always an assortment of nuts. This sampler offers 4 different kinds of roasted almonds. Via Abe’s Market.

DIY Black Feather Halloween Wreath

October 9, 2014 by 415 Comments

This post is part of a 2-part series in partnership with Sverve and Farm Rich. All opinions are 100% my own. #smokehousebbq

I love fall and Halloween decor and while I do put out things that are more for the kids, I love to add a little spooky elegance like my DIY Halloween Wreath!  I found all the stuff to make this wreath at my local dollar store and it was quick and easy to put together.  I get so many compliments on it from kids and grown ups alike.

DIY Halloween Wreath

We enjoy having Halloween parties and there’s nothing more awesome than a fun wreath to meet and greet guests with at the door. This one is so easy to make.

DIY Halloween Wreath

Supplies:

  • 1 grapevine wreath or other wreath form (wire or foam will work just fine)
  • 2-3 black feather boas
  • hot glue
  • orange ribbon
  • black ribbon
  • hot glue and glue gun

Instructions: Heat the hot glue gun and begin gluing the feather boas to the wreath.  You will want the feathers to be thick and full so you’ll probably use all 3 of the boas.  You’ll use quite a bit of glue to keep them in place.  You could also use a fine floral wire to attach the boas if you prefer. After the feathers are attached, wrap the orange ribbon around the wreath and boas several times.  This is where the bow will be placed.  It could be at the bottom of the wreath or off to one side.  I chose to put it off to the side.  Tie the ribbon tightly on the backside to secure it in place. DIY Halloween Wreath Craft To make the bow for the front side of the wreath, fold the orange and black ribbon back and forth several times before tying a bow around it.  This will create a bow with many layers of ribbon. Hot glue the bow to the orange ribbon you wrapped around the wreath. Fluff the feathers and your wreath is ready to hang! This wreath is great for the front door or to display on your wall in any room of your home!  It’s the perfect addition to your fall or Halloween decor and a fun conversation piece at your Halloween parties!

Planning a Halloween Party?

If you’re planning a Halloween party or are attending one and needing to take some yummy food, make sure to check out the new Farm Rich Smokehouse line of products found at Walmart.
