I recently went to Chicago for a blog conference, BlogHer 13. Thousands of bloggers were in attendance and it was a great experience! This conference is always a great one to attend for networking with brands and other bloggers. I have so many blog friends online, and it’s always great to meet them in person!
I arrived on a Wednesday and had plans that evening to meet up with several of my friends aboard one of SeaDog Cruises boats. We walked a short walk from our hotel to the Navy Pier where we met up with everyone. We enjoyed a very relaxing fireworks cruise that night! It was definitely a great way to start the week of events. A big thanks to Amee from Madame Deals for hosting the event!
Our guide on the cruise was this super cute young guy that all the ladies loved! 😉 He had a big personality and gave us a ton of information about the city of Chicago! He also asked where a few of us lived….and with each state that each person gave, he would tell us how that state and Chicago were intertwined. Usually it was business related…but still there were some pretty cool facts!
The skyline was gorgeous from the water, although the photo doesn’t do it justice. At all! All of the buildings lit up in the night sky was just beautiful. It was really something to look at and I took lots of great photos! After just a few minutes, the fireworks show started. Music was playing and the fireworks were awesome to see…not only in the air, but also reflected in the water! It was definitely an experience I’ll never forget!!
I’m really glad that I got to experience it with some of my girlfriends! Becky from The Mommy Island was one of my roomies in Chicago and we were happy to “chill” that evening together! We also spent some much needed time together with Dawn from Blogging Mom of 4, Gwendolyn and Rachelle from Madame Deals, and Donna Hup from Donna’s Deals. I also chatted for a bit with Mr. Nathan Engels from We Use Coupons! It’s always great to see him!
Overall, it was one of the best events that I attended while in Chicago! It was very relaxing…a great way to spend an evening! I highly recommend SeaDog Cruises for anyone that is visiting Chicago!!
